Horizon Fitness Adventure 3 represents the best features and performance you can expect in this class of treadmills. It is easily one of the best treadmills you can get for $1000 or less at the moment. As we take a closer look at every nook and cranny, you will get to see just how capable this thing is. Those of you who are looking for a more advanced form of home fitness should definitely stick around. Adventure 3 might be what you’re looking for.
There is a popular misconception that higher end treadmills need to have all the latest gadgets. We are mostly thinking of touch screen displays and the sort. While that is sometimes the case, it is far from a rule. Horizon Fitness Adventure 3 lacks those flashy features, but it compensates in different ways. From a design point of view, it is a stealthy device. If you weren’t familiar with it, you’d probably think it is a lower mid range device. Its all black exterior tells a story of a robust machine built for performance over anything else. The running deck is 55″ by 20″. This makes it fairly large but not as large as they come in this price range. Whether or not this is a drawback depends on your needs and tastes. We don’t see it as a problem. One thing that kinda puts a dent in Adventure 3’s character is the folding system. You can fold the treadmill but it doesn’t fold up as high as we’d like. The result is a treadmill that is still a bit bulky when folded.
Looking at the features, there is quite a bit to cover. The motor is capable of reaching speeds up to 12 mph at a max incline of 12%. Internal cushioning solutions aren’t visible from the outside but they are there. The control module hides a plethora of features. You have your standard workout routines, which number in 30s, while the built in display also shows all the relevant metrics. What’s cool is that you can track your progress with various fitness apps and other media thanks to the ViaFit software. Speaking of software, there’s another awesome feature that deserves a mention. The LCD display on the treadmill is old school and pretty rudimentary. However, you can sync the treadmill with your TV and access the Passport Media Player. This feature syncs your running with a virtual trail of your choosing. Overall, Horizon Fitness Adventure 3 doesn’t lack anything. On the contrary, it offers plenty of basic and not so basic features.
Horizon Fitness Adventure 3 comes across as a very serious treadmill. Whatever you need, it has your back. Now, it’s not the most modern looking model on the market, but you have to ask yourself what you value more, rock solid performance or good looks? If you choose the former of the two, chances are that Adventure 3 will work more than well for you. The only thing to keep in mind is its size when folded. There are some pretty compact treadmills out there, but this is not one of them. Plan accordingly and you should be just fine.
