In a world where most treadmill brands are focused on loading their machines with the latest entertainment gadgets, it’s refreshing to see one that is optimized for performance. 3G Cardio Lite is one of the best treadmills you can get for $1000 or less, and for a good reason. As we go over the features, components and performance of this model, you will find out what that reason is. Without further ado, lets get to it.
Right off the bat it is apparent that 3G Cardio Lite was designed with functionality in mind. Just by looking at the frame it’s obvious that Cardio Lite means business. The frame is made of thick metal tubes like most treadmills out there. The main difference is that they made the lower frame which supports the running deck from those same tubes. In other words, the entire thing is has very rigid support that eliminates any sway or movement as you run. The deck itself is measures some 51.5″ by 18.5″, which makes it one of the smallest in its class. However it is important to understand that Cardio Lite was designed to be compact. When you are done with your running sessions and you decide to fold the treadmill, you will notice just how compact this thing becomes. Since the deck is fairly small, it goes almost completely vertical in its folded state. Those who have very limited space to work with will undoubtedly appreciate this feature.
So far we have established that 3G Cardio Lite is fairly compact and has a smaller running deck. In other words all the trademark features found on lower end machines. However, the control motor and other major components tell a different tale. This is a 2.75 hp treadmill with 15% max incline. That is 3% more than just about anything you will find in this class. You can reach speeds of up to 12 mph and hold them for prolonged periods of time without an issue. Control module design is a bit strange but ultimately functional. Instead of having one large display, it has four smaller ones. Top two display speed and incline while lower two can show different parameters of your choosing. When it comes to preset programs, there are 10 to choose from. There are also two sets of controls, the main set on the control module and aux controls on located on the side rails. This is also where your heart monitor sensors are.
Compared to most of its immediate competition, 3G Cardio Lite is fairly atypical. You could say it is a very niche machine built with a specific application in mind. As such, it is absolutely one of the best in its class. If you ask us, it is an awesome choice even if you don’t have space issues. There is something about that utilitarian design that just inspires confidence. Naturally, if you are after a model that has all the entertainment bells and whistles, you will have to look elsewhere. In our book though, this treadmill surpasses most gadget oriented models.
